San Diego Comic-Con International looms in the distance…
Darlene’s joke, really; we saw a homeless guy holding a blank piece of cardboard and, well, the rest you know.
(One year ago, Darlene would’ve played Puppy’s part.)
Kudos to you if you were able to get Darlene from not knowing the Doctor at all to cracking psychic paper jokes in a year.
You know, though, I’m an old school fan myself, so I would’ve had Puppy eating jelly babies.
@SKleefeld: Actually it was our friend Mark (the gent who married us) who sent us the Ninth Doctor DVDs for Christmas last year. I know Doctor Who from Tom Baker era but the Whoniverse was 100% unknown to Darlene.
Pfft. what a nerd. Who doesn’t like the doctor?
Ha! I probably would’ve thought the same thing! I <3 The Doctor!
Panel three is all too familiar to me. No one gets me… I’m too nerdy for my own good.
Yuri is quickly becoming my favorite resident of Spittle Beach… for more than the obvious reasons.
Now, if I could only come up with a joke to tie this to The Time Lords single “Doctor and the TARDIS”…
Doctor Who is kinda a hard sell for me: either it’ll seem overhyped, or I’ll dig it and have yet another thing to suck me in : /
…no comment on purses…
Was Puppy just messing with Yuri’s head? I know I do that to my friends sometimes (watch them dig themselves into a nerd hole).
@Mr.Hoisington @Astroland: I’m old skool and like Tom Baker (at least I did until the current docs 9, 10 & 11).
@KeithG @Dorisooney: Yeah, that’s been me on too many occasions (both as Yuri and Puppy).
@Charlie: Which came first: The Timelords’ song OR that stadium chant?
@zjsimon: I thought it would’ve been for Darlene, but she was hooked after the first episode with the 9th Doctor. And don’t get me started on the 10th Doctor!
