Quarantined at Cactus Comicon
It could have been the sweltering Phoenix heat with temperatures hitting the triple digits. Maybe it was the milk maid accessories housed immediately next to my booth. It might’ve been the illo of Seashelly Dumpster on the Cool Jerk banner behind my table. Whatever the reason, Cool Jerk was quarantined temporarily Saturday afternoon. Someone called didn’t make it to the big white telephone to call Ralph and instead dropped a round-trip meal ticket right there in the middle of the aisle, closing traffic for part of the afternoon.
Fortunately, this reversal of fortune didn’t affect the many people who came out on Sunday and stopped by the table — many of whom are now new fans and friends of Cool Jerk.
Updates on the Cactus Comicon to come later this week!
Just checked out this page and you look not-so -good. Sounds like you had a heck of a time and I do hope you’re recovered by now. BTW, we were in Sun City (which is usually a bit cooler than Phoenix) and it didn’t make it to triple digits, so we were pleased. Sorry we couldn’t hook up, but we understand… perhaps another time.
“Not Me!” That’s in regards to whoever puked in the aisle, and maybe a reference to Family Circus.
I can’t wait til your next book comes out! You’ve gotta get it into some Phoenix comics shops.

Sun City and cooler than Phoenix are not phrases I am used to. It always felt about the same to me. i am so glad I missed the incident at the booth. It could have been worse as it could have set off a regurgitative chain reaction like in Stand by Me.
Were you selling puke-covered variants of your books? Or maybe the non-puked-on ones were the variants?
After seeing the fat bellydancers, I almost puked myself.
Hi, I’m very interested in puke but I’m a Super Newbie and I’m having trouble deciding on the right distribution for me (haven’t you heard this a million times?). Anyway here is my problem: I need a projectile vomit distribution that can switch between soupy and chunky without depressing my tonsil to activate.
